Multicultural Awareness and Education

Camp Carmangay sits on and around lands once used as a winter camp for the Blackfoot First Nations People. With medicine wheels, sundials, tipi rings and an abundance of Aboriginal artifacts the Carmangay area is a very significant part of our native history.  The significance of these lands has enriched the Camp Carmangay experience for youth who can come here and receive mentorship and guidance from elders, medicine men and leaders from within their own communities.

Police Officers and members of the Immigration department, mentor youth while presenting them the opportunities that exist as a Canadians.  The inspiration that the environment created at Camp Carmangay provides was the reason given as to why the Camp was asked to be included in this multicultural experience.

We work closely with youth to expand their imaginations and minds to encompass a greater scope of opportunity than what might currently exist.  Camp Carmangay strives to bring together youth from all backgrounds and heritage.  (back to programs)
