Health and Wellness

Intermixed with our main activities that promote civic and personal responsibility we have a variety of other camp activities that promote healthy eating through nutrition and education, and physical fitness for a healthy lifestyle.  Recreation and leisure activities such as sports, music, clubs, theatre, and teen centers provide youth with a wealth of skills, positive social interactions, and meaningful activities. We introduce concepts such as teamwork, cooperation, and conflict resolution.  Supporting healthy choices can also include providing youth with effective drug and alcohol prevention and violence/abuse prevention.

Sports are a great teaching tool for leadership and teamwork skills.  Participants will take part in a wide variety of sports from football, volleyball, golf, floor hockey and more.  Youth learn to focus negative energies into a positive activity that will not only raise their self-esteem and sense of achievement but also provide them with an opportunity to increase their healthy living.  Sports figures from Calgary and Lethbridge provide mentorship to the participants while actively teaching team sports.
