Employability and Job Training

Far too many youth are slipping through the cracks of the educational system and individual potential and skills are being over looked and undeveloped.  Learning to write a resume and to participate in a successful job interview, by virtue of understanding the requirements and process, is an experience Camp Carmangay will promote as an essential dynamic to the successful development of individual opportunity.

Job experience in the work place provided by business owners wanting to contribute to the development and enhancement of youth will give apprenticeship and become an alternative to sitting idle.   Breaking down barriers includes a change in policy from: “I won’t hire you because you don’t have experience” to “I will hire you to give you the experience.”  Camp Carmangay will offer the referral of motivated youth to the attention of participating business owners.

When young people play an active role in society, such as contributing to the work force, continuing education and the likes, they are less likely to be involved in criminal activity or become prey to street predators. Again, the importance and value of a community effort is essential.
